Last year I started exercising again after a long period of not doing any at all, and as I signed up for a 5k race I also decided to collect money for UNICEF, mainly in order to ensure that I completed the race. It does help when all you want to do is to give up to remember that you have to complete the race because people believed in you and donated their hard earned money. So when my sister agreed to join the bike race for next year we (probably me) came up with the brilliant idea to use the opportunity to also collect money for research on the decease Amyloidosis since our dad was diagnosed with the same a couple of years ago.
It feel good to be able to do something, it might not help our dad right now, it might however help people that are diagnosed with the same in the future.
The reason for the blog being in English is dual, firstly I have a lot of friends that doesn't speak Swedish at all, secondly you do reach a broader audience with an English blog.
If you follow the blog, you will find out all about how crap I am at working out, and how I will constantly try to challenge my sister in challenges that I believe that I will win because she has a family to take care of. The first challenge will probably be to see which one of us that can bike the most in a month, not that either of us are very competitive, not at all!
I hope that you all find it interesting and decide to share the blog with your friends for donations, remember that it doesn't have to be a lot, if many people give a little then it become a lot!
